News from Allied Masonic Degrees – District of Sussex
The meeting of Francis J Walton Council last Tuesday evening (14th) was graced with the presence of their DGP, RW Bro Gene Earland who, despite his recent medical news, felt well enough to attend.
With over 30 members and visitors present RW Bro Gene was delighted that so many had taken the time to attend. These included RW Bro Martin Wilson PDepGP, VW Bro Toby Pratt and W Bro Ian Taylor both PDepDGP and, despite the fact that his attendance was a last minute decision, almost all of the District team were present, led by the DistGDC W Bro Greg Shackleton.
After being welcomed into the Council, the DGP took the Chair for the Minutes, which he signed, before handing back the business of the Council to the WM, W Bro Simon Piper, who then went on to entertain the Brethren with the Grand Tyler of Solomon Degree conferred upon Bro’s Gerry Furniss (FJW Council) and David Stringer from the Earl Godwin of Monceux Council.
All in all a splendid but somewhat occasionally emotional evening for our DGP.
