District of London Council of Improvement

The District of London Council of Improvement (COI) meets online via Zoom.

The meetings are usually held at 7:30pm on the 2nd and last Tuesday of each month between September and June.

The Council of Improvement is open to members of London Councils who would like to gain a greater understanding of the degrees to help deliver a confident performance of both ritual and floor work. Members of other Districts can register but they must be vouched for by an existing member or the AMD Executive.

We are always looking to build and improve the COI by encouraging more brethren to attend.

The COI is very much a co-operative environment encouraging brethren to come along and support the initiative to improve the various degrees.

If you wish to practice in a particular office in a degree being worked then please contact the Preceptor or Secretary and they will do their best to accommodate you where possible.

In order to attend the meetings you must first register using this REGISTRATION FORM

Once you have registered you will be added to the COI mailing list and will receive an email prior to each meeting with the Zoom link and password. The link and password will change for each meeting. We request that you do not post the link on social media or forward it to anyone else. If you are aware of someone wishing to attend, then please point them to this page and ask them to register.

Meeting Protocols

To ensure the integrity and security of the sessions the following protocols should be adhered to at all times.

1 - DO NOT PASS THE LINK TO ANYONE ELSE OR POST ON ANY SOCIAL MEDIA

2 - Under your obligations it is the responsibilty of every brother to only attend sessions of the AMD degrees in which they have taken.

3 - Please ensure you log in with the full name you used to register. This way we can verify you against our registered list. If a name is not recognised or not on the list, then that user will not be permitted access to the meeting.

4 - Please ensure you are in a room where no one else can view or hear the device you are using (ideally use headphones to reduce any background noise)

5 - Your Video must be on at all times so that we can see you. Any attendee whose video is disabled will be asked to show their video. If this is not complied with then they will be removed from the session.

6 - When we rehearse the ceremonies no signs or tokens will be shown and any passwords or words which do not appear in the printed ritual book will not be spoken.

7 - When the ceremony starts, please put yourself on mute if you do not have a speaking part in the ceremony.

8 - The meetings will NOT be recorded.
