On Thursday 29th September the Britannic Council of Madeira No 46 met on a re-arranged day due recent train strikes.

It was a busy meeting with St Lawrence the Martyr being conducted by W.M. Richard Criddle to welcome Bro. Edmond Tondu into the order. Bro. Edmond had flown over from his home in Bolivia for this special occasion.

W. Bro. Scott Cargill then took the chair as Ill. Potentate to conduct the Ceremony of Knight of Constantinople (or as the Senior Conductor put it Constantititinonople!). Bro. Neil Miller and Bro. Edmond Tondu were both admitted in fine style as Knights of Constantinople.

With 2 degrees under their belt the Council then moved onto the Installation ceremony to install W. Bro. Bryan Wakely as Master for the ensuing year. This was conducted in fine manner by W. Bro. Richard Criddle. The new Worshipful Master then installed his officers and closed the Lodge.

The brethren, then enjoyed a joyful festive board consisting of Dorset Crab, Roasted Monkfish and Honeycomb Cheesecake, all washed down with some very fine wine. Toasts were made before finally they raised their glasses to their next merry meeting.
